Partial Hospitalization Program

The partial hospitalization program (PHP) at Roaring Brook Recovery is a highly structured outpatient program that can act as an alternative to inpatient rehab. As a PHP client at our center near Owensboro, you will participate in daily groups and other activities (e.g., individual and family therapy sessions) Monday through Friday. We use research-backed treatments for addiction and mental health, including but not limited to the following.

  • Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)
  • Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT)
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
  • Trauma Therapy
  • Motivational Therapy
  • Experiential Therapy
  • Neurofeedback
  • Family Therapy
  • 12-Step

Activities like hiking that may require specific clothing may be involved in your treatment schedule. Our admissions team will be happy to tell you more about what a typical day of treatment is like or what to expect in our 12-week-long program (which is a common recommendation for incoming clients).

Intensive Outpatient Program

Our intensive outpatient program (IOP) near Owensboro meets for a total of about 12 hours per week. With a significantly reduced time commitment compared to PHP, IOP is often ideal for those who need to balance treatment with other obligations like work or college classes. While it can be a starting level of care, many Roaring Brook Recovery clients attend IOP after PHP as part of a step-down approach.

Addiction Aftercare Program

The goal of our addiction aftercare program is to help clients maintain recovery once more intensive treatment comes to an end. Overcoming addiction can be a long journey, and it’s important to have support and skills to use when triggers or stressors emerge.

Medication-Assisted Treatment Program

Medication assisted treatment (MAT) can be highly beneficial and even life-saving when used alongside therapy for the right person. MAT refers to FDA approved medications that are used to treat substance abuse. We have a medication-assisted treatment program, with prescribers qualified to administer and manage MAT if it is necessary for your or your loved ones recovery.

Men’s Rehab Program

Gender is one of many things that can affect addiction and mental health. Although we work with people of all genders, we have a men’s rehab program that provides a safe space for men to discuss potential gender-specific concerns, such as stigma related to men’s mental health. Our men’s rehab program provides access to gender-specific peer groups where clients can connect with and support one another.

Women’s Rehab Program

Much like our men’s rehab program, our women’s rehab program focuses on the specific experiences women might face in relation to addiction and recovery. For example, women face some types of trauma at increased rates and may experience pressures related to gender roles that affect their mental health or treatment needs. Our gender-specific groups for women provide a safe space to discuss these needs, concerns, and possible treatment barriers.

Transitional Housing for Owensboro Residents

Transitional housing for Owensboro residents is available, and it is strongly recommended due to the distance between our center and your city. Although clients are welcome to live at home and commute to treatment, transitional housing can support a person’s recovery journey in many ways.

Transitional housing provides accountability, community, and a drug and alcohol-free living space. If you are interested in transitional housing, the Roaring Brook Recovery team will help you secure a placement.
